What is Vercel?

If you have your own domain, you can also bind it on Vercel without the need for a recordal, and it can be accessed without any issues. How is Vercel?

Vercel is a popular front-end application deployment platform, mainly used for deploying applications like React.js and Next.js. Although we can easily deploy applications from GitHub to the web using Vercel, it lacks an important component: a database. However, there are now four new database options available.

Data is indispensable in web applications. Previously, we could use Heroku's database service, but Heroku started charging for it and no longer provides free database services. The community has been searching for a free trial database solution. Now, we can directly choose Vercel to deploy dynamic websites and use JavaScript and TypeScript frameworks for server-side rendering, making real-time data processing easier than ever.

On May 1st, Vercel announced that a set of serverless storage solutions is now available on Vercel, supported by some of the best infrastructure providers in the industry.

Vercel KV: This is a simple and durable serverless Redis solution supported by Upstash. Vercel Postgres: This is a serverless SQL database built for front-end development, supported by Neon. Vercel Blob: This is an edge upload and file object storage solution supported by Cloudflare R2.

With these new database options provided by Vercel, developers can now easily implement database functionality on the Vercel platform. There's no need to worry about data storage and real-time data processing, allowing developers to focus more on building high-quality front-end applications. This provides greater flexibility and convenience for front-end developers and can meet the needs of various applications.
