What is DeepFloyd?
DeepFloyd is a multimodal AI research lab under Stability AI, and this IF model was developed by DeepFloyd. According to the official introduction,DeepFloyd IFis the latest and most advanced open-source text-to-image model with powerful language comprehension and highly realistic generated images. The image quality of DeepFloyd IF showcased on its official website is impressive, and it can also handle various style effects.

How is DeepFloyd?
Similar to other generative AI models (such asStable DiffusionorDALL-E 2), the Google team used a frozen text encoder to convert text prompts into embedding vectors, then decoded them into images through a diffusion model. However, what sets Imagen apart from other models is that it does not use a multimodal trained CLIP model but instead employs a larger T5-XXL language model. The team even demonstrated that as the scale of the language model increases, the quality of the generated images also improves, rather than the training of the diffusion model. In fact, the diffusion model is primarily responsible for image synthesis.
DeepFloyd IF is an open-source implementation of the Imagen model. Currently, the DeepFloyd team underStabilityAIhas replicated the architecture of Imagen and released an open-source mirror named IF. According to the team, IF demonstrates similar high image quality and language comprehension capabilities. The model was trained using approximately 200 million images from the LAION-1B dataset.
The release of DeepFloyd IF will enable more developers and researchers to use this advanced text-to-image generation model and benefit from it in their respective projects. By using IF, they can generate high-quality images and explore the correlation between images and text, further promoting the development of computer vision and natural language processing fields.
