The Robot and Intelligent Equipment Innovation Research Institute of the Institute of Automation, Chinese Academy of Sciences (Luoyang), was established in October 2014 in the Luoyang National University Science and Technology Park. The institute has formulated the "Construction Plan and Annual Implementation Plan," including four technological research directions for robot and intelligent equipment industries, and selected eight CAS industrialization projects for implementation in Luoyang. In 2015, the institute will initially carry out research and development on welding robots, digital printing, and underwater operation robots, complete the development of product prototypes, and conduct functional tests; and initiate the construction of industrial robot testing environments and platforms. After four years of construction, through various forms of cooperation such as industrial promotion, technological drive, and university-enterprise and regional cooperation, the management and technical teams of the institute and related enterprises are expected to reach 200 people, with at least 50 patent and software copyrights applications; transforming 10 scientific and technological achievements in our city, introducing and incubating about 20 enterprises, and serving about 100 enterprises.
